
Ammonia Leak In Mesquite Forces Evacuations

Hazmat crews are having a tough time capping an ammonia leak that has forced some evacuations in Mesquite. According to several news sources, the incident occurred at a distributor for Le Madeline in a business park near Town East and Military.
According to Mesquite police, at approximately 4:00 a.m. an alarm went off inside the building. Firefighters have been on the scene trying to get the situation under control,and a Dallas Hazmat team has been called in and is going over the 500 gallon tank to try and locate the source of the leak.
"Mesquite Fire Department spokesman Phillip Monjau said that a 'helf-mile readius of the incident has been evacuated, but that doesn't include any homes.:
No one has been hurt, but the fire department does have that whole area near Town East closed off. |
