On Saturday morning, the Forney High School Band performed excellently in the first performance of the 2008-2009 school year.
"What they do is so much more complicated than what I did in High School," said Band Director Mark Poole.
From the microphone, Poole said that the band had really come together in the last three weeks. They practice every morning beginning at 6:00 a.m., and work through movements, choreography, and timing.
Poole said at the beginning of the show, "You are basically seeing a brief version of a rehearsal today."
Those in attendance cheered for the band after the various demonstrations. The band played for two full performances, and both were extremely impressive!
If it's indicative of what is to come, then those attending FHS football games and future performances are in for a real treat.
