Taste of Forney is a Smash Hit

Forney families turned out in mass last night for the first ever Taste of Forney
and Silent Auction. The fundraiser, hosted by the Forney Band Booster Club, was
held in the cafeteria of the Forney High School as families from across town lined up
to support the Forney High School Band program.
With a dozen or more local restaurants donating samples of pizza, hot wings, barbeque,
taquitos, hot dogs, beans, potato salad, cookies, cakes and ice cream, the line wrapped
out of the cafeteria and into the entryway for some time.
The food was plentiful and the quickly moving serving line went right past tables
laden with Silent Auction items giving attendees the ability to stop and bid as they progressed forward.
It was a truly delightful evening and a smash hit for the organizers of the event. Each of the
bands playing throughout the evening gave really outstanding performances. The music was great and the very obvious support these young musicians receive from their parents, teachers and this community, is genuinely inspiring to behold.
The Forney Booster Club members, parents, volunteers and restaurants working this event did a wonderful job and it was quite apparent they had all worked very long hours to produce a really success event.
Congratulations on a job well done! And please enjoy the attached video of the FHS Band performance and the pictorial collage of the first ever Taste of Forney and Silent Auction.
