The Forney middle school seventh grade volleyball teams swept the District Tournament this last Saturday, with the A and B teams swapping places. 
Two Jackrabbit teams advanced to the second round of playoff this past weekend held in Kaufman. A blustery day for football, with high numbing winds, everyone wrapped in blankets, sipping hot chocolate; football went on…
On Tuesday night, the men's varsity basketball team opened their season at home against Jefferson-Dallas Patriots, defeating them handily 72-48. 
The 2008 FHS football team exceeded all expectations in 2008, completing the regular season with a 9-1 record, and earning a playoff birth for the first time since joining the 4A class. This season, the team was the pride of Forney. All over town people discussed and talked about the previous game, the next game, and everything in between, and at homecoming the team was applauded and cheered by the community as their float came down Bois D’Arc and Main Street. 
Round Rock--It wasn’t the results they wanted, but then again it was the UIL Cross Country State Championships at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock Saturday. The weather… it was the worst conditions Forney’s teams had run in all year.
