There is an old saying, "It's better to struggle early than late."

It is early in the basketball season, and the lady Jackrabbits basketball team is struggling as they find their identity.
Seven games into the season, the team has a 3-4 record after losing to Mansfield Legacy last night 39-75.
Coach Neal Weaver said, "Our team has moments where the potential I hope that we will fully realize is evident. We have to work on mental toughness and maturity."
According to Weaver, Mansfield Legacy may be "the best team we’ve played overall in a couple of years, particularly from the guard positions. After they jumped out 9-2, we called a time-out, reset, settled in, and played them even for the rest of two quarters. Unfortunately, we turned the ball over too much in the third quarter, and we rolled back on our heels and stopped taking the game to them offensively. We let them roll over us."
Inconsistency is what is hurting the lady Jackrabbits right now.
"For nearly two quarters last night we were as good as the team we were playing, then we rocked back on our heels. Right now we have quarters where we score 20+ points and quarters where we score 5 doing the same things."
Though the team is struggling, this team has great potential and their coach believes in them.
"I scheduled us tough this year because I believe in our potential", said Weaver. "We have a really tough district. We are having moments where we are really good, and games where some players do really well, others where others do. We have to string those bright moments together."
Under the guidance of Coach Weaver, this team will rebound and fulfill their potential.
