Forney Swimmers Travel to The Colony Swim Meet

Last Saturday, the swim teams of Forney High and North Forney High traveled to The Colony to compete in the Cougar Classic Swim Meet.
FISD Head Swim Coach Brandon Tunnell reports that the Forney High Girls Swim Team Highlights including that all the swimmers swam personal best times!
Tunnell stated “Heather Grimes dropped over 8 seconds in her 200 Free. And Jennie Calvillo swam a personal best in the 100 Breaststroke finishing 16th with a time of 1:30.51.” Heather Grimes was selected as Female Swimmer of the Meet.
Coach Tunnell reported that Forney High swimmer Cody McLeod finished 14th in the 100 Breastroke with a time of 1:17:13.
Tunnell stated “we had a great week of practice last week, which translated into a good meet for us on Saturday. Every swimmer dropped time in their events or swam personal bests. Our relays are also getting better and they continue to improve week to week.”
Reporting highlights of the North Forney Swim Team Coach Tunnell stated “Nicole Brau dropped almost 7 seconds in the 50 Free and Ana Buenrostro swam a personal best in the 100 Free with a time of 1:25.31”
NFH Swimmer Colton Killingsworth also broke 30 seconds in the 50 Free for the first time this year (29.98).
Coach Tunnell stated “this team continues to show improvement in their first year as a program. They work hard in practice and it shows by the amount of time they drop in their races at the meets.”
